Crab Grass...leave it alone now.. it is an annual. Next Spring early->

when the yellow forsythia bushes bloom (probably in March). Put down a crabgrass preventer (HALTS).

You ALSO need to do it in early June again...The way to keep it out is to keep it from germinating. Most people think about the early spring application, but don't do the early summer application. That's why you're starting to see it now...

Some weed sprays will work on crabgrass, and there is a product sold in home stores that attacks crabgrass (marginally effective but kind of hard on other grass), but your best bet now is to prevent it from coming up in the first place..VERY important to reapply the HALTS in early summer.
